My objective, in Cincinnati, as Chairman of Friends of the African Union, is to utilize the formal training and experience I have acquired in the fields of electronics, computing, communications, business, sales, school board membership, community development, African diplomacy, civil society organizational management and as an African Scientific Institute Fellow to create a new community benefit agreement based cyber currency. It is to be built on forks of BlockChain Technology and smart contracts based on solutions to the UN Universal Periodic Review, bank based Community Benefit Agreements and supersets of ISO 26000, corporate responsibility.

Friends of the African Union supports Smart Cincy and the Regional Smart Cities Initiative because we recognize that smart planning is necessary today to ensure that our city and region is prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. Bringing cohesiveness to the smart cities conversation, prompting smart action among various stakeholders, and establishing shared goals supported by an agile planning architecture will lead to the creation of a better place to live, work, study, and visit using a new community benefit agreement based cyber currency.

Friends of the African Union supports the creation of a digital foundation, through a public private partnership, that allows our leaders to be more responsive to the needs of our residents and creates an environment that’s attractive to talent and companies alike. We call for our leaders in public and private sectors to support the vision of a cohesive, smart city and region that facilitates efficiency, transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to our most urgent needs as defined through a update to Plan Cincinnati.

Plan Cincinnati came after a three-year planning process 2009-2012, .It has been approved by City Council and so the 228-page document should have become Cincinnati’s policy guide for everything from financial to environmental decisions, and beyond. It was Cincinnati’s first comprehensive plan in 32 years and was scheduled for an update in 2017. We are a year late.
